The Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015) concern occupational health, safety and welfare in construction. They place legal duties in relation to management arrangements and practical measure on a range of construction project participants, including clients and contractors but now place a particular emphasis on ‘Principal Designers’.

The regulations replace and modify existing regulations (from 2007) with the aim of simplifying and clarifying the delivery of improved standards of health, safety and welfare, and related business benefits.

Notifiable projects require Principal Designers to provide the necessary health and safety documentation which highlights any health and safety risks to the contractor.  To aid this, having acted as CDM Coordinator’s (CDMC) under CDM 2007 we can act as a key project advisor in respect of construction health and safety risk management matters. The main purpose being to advise and assist Principal Designers to carry out their duties; to coordinate health and safety aspects of the design work and to prepare the health and safety file.

3SIXTY can act in the capacity of CDM Advisor and can provide early advice in regards to the requirement of compliance within your proposed development or refurbishment. The role of our CDM Advisors is to provide the Principal Designer with a key project advisor in respect of construction health and safety risk management matters. We ensure proper co-ordination of the health and safety aspects of the design process and facilitate good communication and cooperation between project team members and co-ordinate the preparation of the health and safety file.
